Chile is facing an unprecedented water crisis, intensified by climate change. This situation has significantly impacted access to drinking water, making it essential to develop concrete and sustainable solutions. As a leader in the water and sanitation sector, Aguas Andinas faced the challenge of positioning its water reuse initiatives not only as a technical alternative, but as a visible, understandable, and meaningful strategy for the general public.

The challenge was twofold:

Positioning the reuse of treated water as a key solution to address the mega-drought.

Connecting with citizens through a clear, transparent, and approachable narrative that would build trust and commitment.

Additionally, the project needed to address an urgent need to reorganize Aguas Andinas’ brand architecture, separating environmental initiatives from its traditional corporate image in order to improve communication with audiences.

BBK led the development of the BioCity brand.

To address this challenge, Aguas Andinas partnered with BBK Group to lead the development of the BioCiudad brand—a framework designed to reflect the company’s commitment to sustainability and its positive impact on people’s quality of life.

Isotypes, logos, photographic styles, and other visual elements were developed to clearly differentiate BioCiudad from Aguas Andinas’ corporate identity, creating a more direct and human connection with people.

Construction of the Bicentennial Reservoir, designed to store drinking water and ensure supply during emergencies.

Development of kilometers of pipelines for the reuse of treated water.

Groundwater aquifer recharge using nature-based solutions.

Advertising campaigns were designed to inform and educate the public about the impact of climate change, the drinking water production process, and how individual actions can contribute to sustainability.
